Addressing Critical Needs in South Florida
At Serenity Community Health Center, we recognize the urgent need for expanded mental health and substance use programs in South Florida. Our center fills a crucial gap by offering Respite, PHP, and IOP programs, which are essential services that are currently in short supply in the region. By providing these programs, we aim to address the following pressing issues:
➤ The rate of opioid overdose deaths has surged by 30% since 2023.
➤ Post-discharge gaps lead to delays of 8–12 weeks in psychiatric appointments.
➤ Over 40% of clients experience relapse within 30 days of detox due to insufficient step-down services.
➤ There is a shortage of bilingual and culturally competent providers, particularly for Haitian-Creole and Spanish-speaking individuals.
